Verified reviewLMdW accepted my order/payment despite being unable to legally fulfil it to Ireland. They did not warn me that customs seizure was a near certainty. They left me as the buyer exposed to the financial and legal consequences of their non-compliance. For an international retailer dealing in excisable goods, duty and tax obligations are fundamental. It is misrepresentation to process orders without making customers aware of these restrictions. To prevent this happening to other Irish customers, LMdW’s website should implement a clear safeguard. For example: (1.) Geo-blocking or restriction: Refuse shipping to Ireland for alcohol orders. (2.) Mandatory warning pop-up: “Irish law prohibits alcohol imports via post or courier unless excise duty and VAT are prepaid in Ireland. Your order may be seized by Customs if shipped.” However, it seems that if the goods get returned to LMdW they can provide a refund.

Verified reviewI ordered gin and rum on the website, and it showed as being in stock. After payment, it turned out to be out of stock, resulting in a refund. It's annoying that the stock isn't updated on the website.

Verified reviewGreat I wanted to send a nice bottle to a French family who had extended hospitality to my Scottish daughter and her friends as they cycled across France. I was able to find my favourite Scottish Malt Whisky and send a bottle on to them - I would recommend this service - great choice of brands and efficient delivery etc
